| FOCAC Secretariat Holds Consultation with African Diplomats | ||||||

A consultation was held between the Secretariat of the Chinese Follow-up Committee of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) and the African diplomatic corps in China on May 11.The meeting, attended by more than 40 African ambassadors and diplomats, was co-chaired by XU Jinghu, Secretary-general of the Chinese Follow-up Committee and Director-general of the African Department, Chinese Foreign Ministry and H.E. Eleih-Elle ETIAN, Ambassador of Cameroon and Dean of African diplomatic corps. Xu briefed the diplomats on recent situation of China-Africa relations and FOCAC follow-up actions. QI Jianwei, Deputy Director-general of the Department of Western Asia and Africa and the official of the Department of Aid to Foreign Countries of the Ministry of Commerce elaborated on the progress of trade and economic cooperation between China and Africa and China's programme of human resource cooperation with Africa. The diplomatic envoys sang high praise for the efforts and achievements of the Chinese side in implementing FOCAC follow-up actions and put forward positive proposals. Both sides also exchanged views on the preparations for the FOCAC 4th Senior Officials Meeting, and achieved extensive consensus.
