Ambassador Jin Yongjian Delivered a Speech on China's Development and Its Impact on Sino-Africa Relations at a Seminar Held by Africa Institute of South Africa

On May 17, 2005, Ambassador Jin Yongjian, President of the United Nations Association of China, delivered a speech entitled " China's Economic Development: New Opportunities for the Sino-African Relations" at a seminar held by Africa Institute of South Africa. Almost 100 people from South African government, academies, universities, media and diplomatic corps attended the seminar.

 

 

In his speech, Ambassador Jin made a general introduction of China's economic development, the history and current situation of Sino-African relations, as well as the new opportunities for Sino-African cooperation. He specifically elaborated on several fields of Sino-African cooperation which will be enhanced by China's economic development.

 

After the speech, Ambassador Jin also took some questions from the audience on China's textile trade, China's position on UN and UNSEC reform, China's assistance to Africa, China-Japan relations and China's position on nuclear issue on the Korean peninsula, etc.
