2009/09/17

From September 9th to 15th, 2009, President Francois Bozize Yangouvonda of the Central African Republic paid a state visit to China, during which he held talks with President Hu Jintao and met with Chairman Jia Qinglin of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC). President Hu spoke positively of the development of bilateral relations since China and Central African Republic resumed diplomatic ties, reaffirming that it has been the Chinese government's persistent policy to develop long-term, stable, friendly and cooperative relations with Central Africa on the basis of sincerity, mutual trust, equality and mutual benefit, and that China is ready to work with Central Africa to further consolidate the political basis of bilateral relations, expand and strengthen bilateral economic and trade cooperation, enrich people-to-people exchanges and cooperation, and increased coordination and cooperation on multilateral affairs. President Bozize thanked China for providing a great deal of sincere and selfless assistance to Central Africa in the country's economic and social development, and reiterated that Central Africa will firmly adhere to the one-China principle and support China's principled position on issues related to Tibet and Xinjiang. He expressed the willingness to strengthen cooperation with China to promote more solid and effective development of bilateral relations. During the visit, the two sides signed the Agreement on Economic and Technological Cooperation between the Government of the People’s Republic of China and the Government of the Central African Republic and other cooperative documents.
