The Small-Scale Reception for the 99th Anniversary of the Founding of the Chinese People's Liberation Army Held at the Chinese Embassy in Nigeria

On July 23, the Chinese Embassy in Nigeria hosted a small-scale reception to celebrate the 99th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA). Ambassador Yu Dunhai; H.E. General(Rtd) CG Musa, Minister of Defence Ministry; Senior Colonel Ouyang Haisheng, Chinese Defense Attaché; and other military leaders from the Nigerian Armed Forces Headquarters attended the event.

In his remarks, Ambassador Yu stated that under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, the PLA has made outstanding contributions to the liberation of the people, national independence and rejuvenation, and is a great wall of steel firmly safeguarding national sovereignty, security and development interests. The Chinese military actively fulfills the international obligations befitting the armed forces of a major country, extensively participates in global security governance, and contributes to maintaining world peace. China is willing to deepen security cooperation with Nigeria and jointly address challenges such as terrorism.

In his remarks, General Musa stated that China-Nigeria relations are developing smoothly, and military cooperation is gaining momentum. China is a true partner of Nigeria and other African countries, and Nigeria is willing to further work with China to strengthen its capacity building and promote regional security and prosperity.
