Ambassador Huang Shifang attends the prize giving ceremony for outstanding achievers in Chinese langugage

On April 26, the “Prize Giving Ceremony for the Outstanding Achievers in Chinese Language for Primary and Secondary schools in Mauritius, Academic Year 2025”was held at the China Cultural Center in Mauritius. H.E. Ambassador Dr. Huang Shifang, Hon.John Michaël Tzoun Sao YEUNG SIK YUEN, Minister of Commerce and Consumer Protection, Hon.Mrs Eileen Karen Lee Chin FOO KUNE-BACHA, Junior Minister of Youth and Sports, along with other distinguished guests, teachers, and students attended the event.

Ambassador Dr. Huang, in her speech, extended congratulations to the award-winning students and expressed her respect to the institutions and individuals from all sectors who have long supported Chinese language education in Mauritius. She emphasized the importance of  Language to work as a bridge that promotes exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations. She pointed out that President Xi Jinping put forward the Global Civilization Initiative, advocating the respect for the diversity of civilizations, the importance of inheritance and innovation of civilizations, robust international people-to-people exchanges and cooperation and the common values of humanity. Thus she expressed hope that the students, using the Chinese language as a bridge to deepen mutual learning between Chinese and Mauritian civilizations, strive to grow into a backbone force promoting China–Mauritius friendship.
