Chinese Ambassador Chen Xiaodong Met with Principal of the National School of Government of South Africa Ngcaweni

On January 8, Chen Xiaodong, Chinese Ambassador to South Africa, had a video meeting with Ngcaweni, Principal of the National School of Government of South Africa. Ambassador Chen thought highly of China-South Africa relations and appreciated the contributions made by the National School of Government of South Africa and Ngcaweni himself to boosting China-South Africa exchanges and cooperation. Ambassador Chen said that over the years, the National School of Government of South Africa and relevant Chinese think tanks and academic institutions had been actively exchanging good practices on governance, which has played an important role in enhancing friendly exchanges between China and South Africa. The major changes in the current international situation intertwined with the unprecedented Covid-19 pandemic require China and South Africa to strengthen communication and mutual learning more than ever before. In the context of the Covid-19 pandemic, it is hoped that the two sides will continue to conduct exchanges and cooperation in a flexible fashion, and the Embassy of China in South Africa is poised to provide assistance to this end.
Principal Ngcaweni welcomed Ambassador Chen to his new post and spoke highly of the recent online training and other exchanges and cooperation between relevant agencies of the two sides. He thanked the Embassy of China for its support and assistance, expressed willingness to continue to expand exchanges with China in terms of governance experience and looked forward to Ambassador Chen's early visit to the National School of Government of South Africa.
