SHANGHAI, Jan. 28 (Xinhuanet) -- Mauritius hopes to boost economic ties with Shanghai and expects to receive more investmentfrom Shanghai businesses, visiting Mauritian Prime Minister Paul Raymond Berenger said Friday during his visit to Shanghai. When meeting with Han Zheng, mayor of Shanghai, Berenger suggested that the two sides expand exchange and cooperation in trade, tourism and the aviation industry. Han briefed Berenger on Shanghai's latest economic and social development and promised that Shanghai would encourage the local entrepreneurs to further investment in Mauritius. Mauritius now has 300 investment projects in Shanghai, with a contracted worth of 1.6 billion US dollars. Berenger began his official visit to China on Jan. 23 at the invitation of Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao. While in Beijing, he mettop Chinese leaders including Hu Jintao, Wen Jiabao and top legislator Wu Bangguo. |
