| China concludes 9 economic agreements with Angola |

LUANDA, Feb. 25 (Xinhuanet) --China and Angola signed here on Friday a package of nine economic cooperation agreements, focusing on development of energy and mineral resources in the southwestern African country. Visiting Chinese Vice Premier Zeng Peiyan and Angolan Prime Minister Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos witnessed the signing of the economic agreements. The nine agreements cover cooperation in energy, mineral resources and infrastructure, petroleum exploration and prospecting as well as economic and technical assistance. This is part of the efforts by the Chinese government to assist the post-war reconstruction in Angola, one of the poorest nations in the world due to the its 27-year-long civil war. Zeng, who arrived here on Thursday for a three-day official visit to Angola, met with Angolan President Jose Eduardo dos Santos and held talks with Prime Minister Fernando da Piedade Diasdos Santos on Friday.
