Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo meets Shanghai mayor Han Zheng April 16th.

    Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo says China is a beacon for global development.

    He made the remark while meeting with Shanghai mayor Han Zheng on Saturday during his ongoing visit to China, the third since taking office.

    He said China is developing rapidly and will provide direction for the rest of the world in the 21st century. His tour not only aims to strengthen bilateral ties, but also draw on the experience of China's fast economic growth.

    Obasanjo, also the current President of the African Union, started his visit to China on Thursday, and has so far traveled to Beijing and central Hubei province.
