A senior official of the Communist Party of China ( CPC) met in "Beijing on Sunday with a delegation from Gabon's Democratic Party, pledging to further promote exchanges between the two parties.

Wang Jiarui, head of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, told Simplice Guedet Manzela, secretary-general of Gabon's Democratic Party, that the CPC attaches great importance to cementing friendly dialogues with the Democratic Party of Gabon.

Wang said he hopes Manzela's visit to China will further promote exchanges between the two parties and will facilitate China-Gabon friendly relations in the new century and benefit people of the two countries.

Manzela, who had visited China for several times, said his party admires the great achievements China has made and hoped the current visit would help him to learn more from China's experience.

Speaking highly of the progress of Gabon-China relations, Manzela said Gabon is ready to step up win-win cooperation with China in the areas of infrastructure, energy and agriculture.

The two sides also exchanged views on further exchanges between the two parties.

Wu Guanzheng, a member of the Standing Committee of Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, is expected to meet with the Gabonese party delegation later on Sunday.
