On March 31st, Ms. Xu Jinghu, Secretary-General of the Secretariat of the Chinese Follow-up Committee of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), and Director-General of the Department of African Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, held consultations with Ambassador Ibrahim Ali Hassan and Ambassador Mahmoud Ahmed Abdel El Gawad, FOCAC Coordinators of Egypt, which is the Chair of the forthcoming 4th FOCAC Ministerial Conference.

The two sides had extensive exchange of views and reached broad consensus on future development of FOCAC, especially the preparation for the upcoming 6th FOCAC Senior Officials Meeting to be held in Egypt. Both sides agreed that the promotion of China-Africa cooperation and advancement of FOCAC is the common goal for China and Egypt. The two sides will strengthen cooperation and spare no efforts to ensure the success of the upcoming SOMs and Ministerial Conference, making greater contribution to the development of FOCAC.

Xu Jinghu also briefed the Egyptian side on the implementation of follow-up actions of FOCAC Beijing Summit. She said the Chinese side would keep on working closely with the African side to further promote the outcomes of Beijing Summit.

The Egyptian Coordinators highly appreciated the comprehensive and swift implementation of the outcomes of FOCAC Beijing Summit and commended China as a credible friend and close partner of Africa.
