Anti-Malaria Medicine Donation Hand-Over Ceremony Held in Monrovia

Monrovia Liberia, February 1- A hand-over ceremony for another two batches of China-aid anti-malaria medicine to Liberia was held at the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare in Monrovia, Liberia, on January 28, 2009. H.E. Mr. ZHOU Yuxiao, Chinese Ambassador accredited to Liberia, and Dr. Walter Gwenigale, Minister of Health and Social Welfare, representing China and Liberia respectively, both presented at the ceremony and witnessed the occasion.

Commenting at the brief ceremony, Amb. ZHOU expressed his satisfaction and appreciation towards the cooperation and willingness of Liberia side in the implementation of the China-aid projects and programs and reiterated the Chinese Government's commitment to contribute its own part in Liberia's postwar rebuilding endeavor.

On his part, Minister Dr. Walter Gwenigale expressed his appreciation and gratefulness to Chinese Embassy for bringing the yearly based continuous anti-malaria donations from the Chinese Government and also extolled China's positive and indispensable role played in assisting his post war country, not only in the filed of health, but also in the other areas such as infrastructure construction and renovation, agricultural development, education and capacity building etc..
