
Ambassador Lin inspects China aided construction site
At the invitation of Mr Lin Songtian, Chinese ambassador to Malawi, the reporters of Malawi made an on-the-spot investigation on China-aided project of Malawi International Conference Centre and Business Hotel under construction on 21st July 2010. More than 10 reporters from Malawi National TV, National Radio, South Joy TV, Capital Radio, 101 Radio, The Nation, Daily Times, and The Guardian and some Chinese diplomats, including Political Counselor Zhou Haihong and Commercial Counselor Sun Yehong, participated in the event.

With concessional loan provided by the Chinese government, the project of Malawi International Centre and Business Hotel is constructed by the Shanghai Construction Group (SCG). Construction commenced on 12th December 2009, the project is expected to be put to use by the end of June 2010.

Accompanied by the head of Malawi Branch of SCG, Ambassador Lin and the Malawi reporters visited the construction site of Malawi International Centre and Business Hotel, had a look at the kitchen and lounge of the local staff, and listened to the briefing of the construction company. All the people were impressed by the rapid progress and spoke highly of the project.

At the construction site, Ambassador Lin briefed the reporters on the progress of the construction work, the good logistics support for the local staff, the advanced management concept and practice such as the incentive mechanism. He also answered reporters' questions concerning China-Malawi relations and bilateral cooperation in different fields.
