Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria Yu Dunhai Meets with Rear Admiral Ahmed, Commandant of the Nigerian National Defense College

On November 20, 2025, Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria Yu Dunhai met with Rear Admiral A Ahmed, Commandant of the Nigerian National Defense College. Senior Colonel Ouyang Haisheng, Defence Attaché of the Chinese Embassy in Nigeria attended the meeting.



Ambassador Yu said that last September, President Tinubu paid a state visit to China and attended the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC). The two heads of state jointly announced that China-Nigeria relations would be upgraded to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. Strengthening high-level mutual security  assistance is one of the important pillars of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. China is willing to continue strengthening counter-terrorism cooperation with Nigeria and enhance personnel training exchanges with National Defense College.



Rear Admiral Ahmed said that the Nigeria-China relations has been traditionally friendly, and practical cooperation between the two militaries has continued to deepen. The National Defense College looks forward to further deepening cooperation with institutions such as the National Defense University of the Chinese People's Liberation Army.
