China to enhance media exchanges, cooperation with South Sudan: envoy

JUBA, May 25 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Ambassador to South Sudan Hua Ning has said China will help strengthen South Sudan Broadcasting Cooperation (SSBC), a move that he noted will promote the revitalized peace process.   Hua said China will enhance media exchanges and cooperation with South Sudan through an aided project that will see the country sponsor the setting up of a broadcasting center in Juba.


China donates rice to assist victims of Cyclone Idai in Zimbabwe

HARARE, May 24 (Xinhua) -- China on Friday donated more than 10,000 tonnes of rice to assist people who were affected by Cyclone Idai as well as vulnerable households facing hunger due to drought.


China, Namibia to boost cooperation on tourism

WINDHOEK, May 24 (Xinhua) -- China and Namibia are planning to sign a memorandum of agreement in June 2019 to drive investment and growth in the tourism sector, Zhang Yiming, Chinese Ambassador to Namibia said Thursday evening.   The talks have thus far established goals, which will seek to drive a mutually beneficial deal between the two countries in the various trades and services within the sector, according to Zhang.


Chinese, Namibian banks launch program to boost bilateral tourism

WINDHOEK, May 24 (Xinhua) -- Chinese banking company Industrial and Commercial Bank of China Limited (ICBC) and Standard Bank Namibia jointly unveiled the "I Go Namibia" program here Thursday to promote bilateral tourism.   Under the initiative, which is part of ICBC's "I Go Global" rewards scheme, ICBC cardholders traveling to Namibia are able to enjoy benefits, including exclusive discounts. Equally, Standard Bank's cardholders can enjoy similar exclusive benefits while traveling in China.


South Sudan hails China's support to health sector

 JUBA, May 22 (Xinhua) -- South Sudan's vice president James Wani Igga on Wednesday hailed China's contribution to the health sector in the east African country.   Igga said Beijing has provided medical equipment, capacity building to health workers and financial aid to improve South Sudan's health infrastructure.
