Assistant Foreign Minister Zhai Jun Meets With FOCAC Egyptian Coordinators

On April 1st, Assistant Foreign Minister Zhai Jun met with Ambassador Ibrahim Ali Hassan and Ambassador Mahmoud Ahmed Abdel El Gawad, Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) Coordinators of Egypt.

Zhai Jun said that "FOCAC has become an important platform for collective dialogue and an effective mechanism for practical cooperation between China and friendly African countries". As the current Co-chairs of FOCAC conferences, both China and Egypt attach great importance to FOCAC affairs and have carried out smooth cooperation in this regard. He was confident that with close cooperation of the both sides, the upcoming FOCAC Senior Officials Meetings and the 4th Ministerial Conference to be held in Egypt in the next two years respectively would be a success, which would contribute to the sustainable development of FOCAC.

Ambassador Hassan highly appreciated the comprehensive implementation of the outcomes of FOCAC Beijing Summit by the Chinese side. He said that among all the partnerships established between Africa and other continents, FOCAC is unique for its credibility, seriousness and sincerity. China's sincere assistance to Africa in its development is in the interests of both sides. Egypt will commit itself to the success of FOCAC, as well as the new-type strategic partnership between China and Africa, and ensure the success of the next FOCAC SOMs and ministerial conference.
