Secretariat of Chinese Follow-up Committee of FOCAC Holds Consultation with African Diplomatic Envoys to China

On 6 March, the Secretariat of the Chinese Follow-up Committee of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) held consultation in Beijing with African diplomatic envoys to China. Mr. Lu Shaye, Secretary-general of the Chinese Follow-up Committee of the Forum and Director-general of the Department of African Affairs of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, and Mr. Ahmed Rezek, Egyptian Ambassador to China and Coordinator for FOCAC, co-chaired the meeting.

Director-general Lu reported the joint plan for the 5^th Ministerial Conference of FOCAC to be held in Beijing this year. He also listened to the diplomatic envoys' opinions on the development trend and key areas with regard to China-Africa cooperation in the next stage.

The diplomatic envoys expressed their willingness to work closely with the Chinese side and make a concerted effort for the preparatory work for the 5^th Ministerial Conference of FOCAC, ensuring the success of the conference.
