Chinese Ambassador to Dominica Chu Maoming Attends Chinese Community’s New Year Party

On January 19, the Chinese Association in Dominica and the Dominica-China Friendship Association jointly hosted a Chinese New Year party. Approximately 120 attendees participated in the event, including H.E. Chu Maoming, Chinese Ambassador to Dominica and his wife, Mr. Robert Han, President of the Chinese Association in Dominica, Ms. Queen Thomas, President of the Dominica-China Friendship Association, Mrs. Patricia Lawrence, Vice President of the Dominica-China Friendship Association, diplomats from the Chinese Embassy, members of the Associations, Chinese community members, and representatives of Chinese enterprises.  

In his remarks, Ambassador Chu highlighted China’s economic achievements in 2024 and commended the Chinese Association in Dominica for its efforts over the past year in organizing community activities and supporting the Chinese nationals. He also extended his Chinese New Year greetings for the year of the snake to all attendees.  

Mr. Han expressed gratitude to the Embassy for its consistent care and support for the Chinese community and outlined the association’s plans for 2025. He encouraged the Chinese nationals to remain actively engaged in community events.  

Mrs. Lawrence remarked that Spring Festival or Chinese New Year is one of China's most significant cultural traditions and symbols. She emphasized her hope for continued cultural exchanges with Chinese friends to deepen mutual understanding.  

The party featured a festive atmosphere as guests enjoyed traditional food, participated in cultural performances, and celebrated together with joy and enthusiasm.
