【Population】18.63 million (2016). There are more than 60 tribes, divided into two major ethnic groups: the Voltaic (70%) and the Mande (28%). The official language is French. The main ethnic languages are Mossi, Dyula and Fula. 50% of the residents believe in indigenous religion, 30% in Islamism and 20% in Catholicism.

It also borders Mali to the west and north. With a tropical savanna climate, the country has an average annual temperature of 27℃.
