【Population】1.3 million (2017). Major ethnic groups include mainland group of the Fang (about 85% of the population) and the Bube people of Bioko Island (about 6.5% of the population). The official language is Spanish. French and Portuguese are identified as the second and third official languages. Indigenous languages include Fang and Bube. 82% of the population are Catholic and 15% are Muslim.
