【Official Name】Republic of Botswana
【Area】581,730 k㎡
【Population】2.25 million (2016). The Bantu-speaking Tswana make up the majority of the population (90%). The official language is English, and Setswana is also widely spoken. Most of the citizens are Christians and traditional religions are practicedin rural areas.
【Capital】Gaborone, with a population of 236,000 (2013). The annual average high temperature reaches 28.3℃, and low temperature 12.9℃. The average temperature in a given year is 20.7℃.

【Geography and Climate】Botswana is a landlocked country located in southern Africa at an average elevation of 1000 meters. It is bordered by Zimbabwe to the east, Namibia to the west, Zambia to the north and South Africa to the south. Most areas have a tropical savanna climate and the west is arid or semi-arid desserts. Average annual temperature is 21℃, with an average precipitation of 400 mm annually.
