【Official Name】Republic of Guinea
【Area】245,857 km2
【Population】12.4 million (London Economic Quarterly Review). There are more than 20 ethnic groups in the country, of which the Fulas (also known as the Peuls) account for more than 40% of the country’s population, the Madinka people account for about 30%, and the Soussou people account for about 20%. The official language is French. All ethnic groups have their own languages. The main languages are Susu, Maninka and Fulani (also known as Pular). About 85% of the residents in the country believe in Islam, 5% in Christianity, and the rest in indigenous religions.

【Geography and Climate】Located on the west coast of Africa, it borders Guinea-Bissau, Senegal and Mali to the north, Côte d’Ivoire to the east, Sierra Leone and Liberia to the south, and the Atlantic Ocean to the west. The coastline is about 352 km long. The coastal area has a tropical monsoon climate and the inland has a tropical savanna climate. The annual average temperature is 24 to 32℃.
